Quislai: A race of what humans would call fairies who live in the Wildworld, they are beautiful and ethereal, like creatures out of myth. They posses magicks, most of which are tied to nature in some way; the variety and strength of their power depends on the individual being. They are also immortal, so they stay young and beautiful forever (halfbreeds may have magical abilities, but are not immortal, though they do have extended life spans). The only thing that can hold a Quislai is a thornbranch tangled in their hair, upon which they must obey and follow the person wielding the branch in all ways. However, they are also susceptible to the magick of other Quislai. They follow their own rules and have no real ruling body, though there have been royalty among them (i.e. Elwyn’s mother was a Quislai Queen). Some of the more prominent Quislais also have their own ‘spot’, like Elwyn has her Wood. They know of the Stillworld, and full Quislai have the ability to pass through open Passages without anything helping them. They're all impossible and unreliable and may seem childish, but their power is beyond belief and nothing can stand against them when they're roused. When it happens, even the greatest sorcerei keep out of their way. Though, fortunately, it doesn't happen very often. They can also mark a human with a kiss, which will make the human's senses sharper and will keep them safe to all who recognize Quislai law.
Sorcerei: Not exactly human, but not Quislai, sorcerei are natives of the Wildworld that have the ability to do great magick. They have a magical instrument (such as a staff or an amulet), which help to focus their powers, and they are as powerless as an ordinary human without that instrument. They usually also have a grimoire, or a book of spells. They are not immortal, but most drink the Elixir of Days to extend their lives. As well as a magical instrument, a sorcerei's staff also denotes their power and is won in a competition with others at the end of their apprenticeship. The most powerful staff ever made was the Black, wielded by Darion Beldar, but was broken down into the Gems of Power (see The Council for more information on the Gems). Since then, the most powerful staff is the Gold, and only two sorcerei today have it, those being Morgana Shee and Merlin. After the Gold comes Silver, Red, Gray, Purple, Azure, Jade, White, Green, and Brown. A sorcerei must start as an apprentice with a virtue wand, a stick filled with herbs, a parchment on which their mentor writes in the language of Findahl, and a piece of white cotton stained with three drops of both the mentor's and apprentice's blood. This way, the apprentice can draw power from the mentor's staff to their own hand. And though the sorcerei are strong, and it is even sorcerei that make up The Weerul Council, none of them want to face a Quislai on Quislai territory. It is also possible for mortals from the Stillworld to compete for a staff and become a sorcerei, as well, though since most Stillworlders don't know about the Wildworld, that doesn't happen often.
Elementals/Sprites: There are different types of these creatures throughout the Wildworld. Eldreth, the marsh dwellers. Dirdreth, the wood elementals, who make their home in Elwyn’s Wood, and answer only to her, although they are known to roam the Wildworld, doing their Mistress’s bidding. They are wild and beautiful, with silver moonlit eyes, and sweet smiles, the kind to lead you to your death. They dress in furs, and are among the most wild and free of the elementals. Most are female, males are rare and are not often seen by any other species. They do not take well to strangers, and see anyone that comes into their territory as a plaything. Sniaghtee Shee, the snow sprites, who are common to areas of the Wildworld that have snow year round, such as high on mountain tops, and Starlyn’s Snow Glade. Both males and females are slight and ethereal looking, with pale skin that looks to be covered in a sheen of frost. Their hair is most often a shade of silver, white or blonde, and their eyes are generally silver, gray or blue. The snow sprites are curious, and like to explore, but cannot stay away from the snow for more than a day, or they start to perish from the warmth. They are very playful and friendly when in their own habitat, but are wary and sometimes frightened of strangers. These sprites have the ability to freeze things, but not large areas, and their powers are inhibited by warm temperatures and fire. Athar Aillse, the sky sylphs, who are flighty, light and airy elementals, that are common to wide open spaces. The females of the species are seen most often, as the males are less common, and stay near their homes to protect. They are tiny and whisp like, looking like slight teenagers. They have silky hair in any natural colour, and woodland eyes, and seem to be almost insubstantial. The Athar Aillse have gossamer wings, that let them take to the sky, and they would much prefer flight over any other means of transportation. They are sweet and mischievous, fluffy and bubbly, and love to play and have fun.
Feathered Serpents: Looking just like snakes with wings, these are the Guardians of the High Council, and it is even a Feathered Serpent that guards the three known Gems of Power. Every great house has a serpent guardian and they are used for both protection and attack. A baby Feathered Serpent is roughly two feet long with six pairs of wings on its back and of varying color. The size of a Feathered Serpent varies as well with age; it is possible for them to be the size of an eagle, or a small car.
Beasts: There are beasts only known through legend also in the Wildworld, including phoenixes, dragons, and sometimes an unnatural combination of two beasts into one.
